Where is the tallest waterfall?

Angel Falls, called Kerepakupai Meru by the Indigenous Pemon people, drops 979 meters from the edge of Auyan-tepui, a flat-topped mountain in the Canaima National Park of Venezuela. Its uninterrupted plunge of about 807 meters is the tallest single drop on Earth. The fall is so high that during the dry season much of the water evaporates into mist or is carried away by wind before reaching the base. It was named after the American aviator Jimmie Angel, who flew over it in 1933. Even taller cascades exist underwater in the ocean, but on land Angel Falls is unmatched.
