Where is the tallest waterfall on land?

Angel Falls, located in Canaima National Park in southeastern Venezuela, is the highest uninterrupted waterfall on land, dropping about 979 metres, with a clear single plunge of around 807 metres. It cascades from the edge of Auyan-tepui, one of the flat-topped mountains known as tepuis that rise dramatically from the surrounding jungle. The falls are so tall that in the dry season much of the water evaporates into mist or is carried away by wind before reaching the bottom. It was named after Jimmie Angel, an American aviator who flew over it in the 1930s, though it has long been known to the Indigenous Pemon people. If underwater cataracts are counted, far taller falls exist beneath the ocean, but Angel Falls remains the tallest visible waterfall on the planet.
