The Full Story
Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988) raced for Alfa Romeo in the 1920s before forming Scuderia Ferrari in Modena in 1929 to run racing cars for Alfa. After leaving Alfa Romeo, he founded his own company, and the first car to carry the Ferrari name, the 125 S, raced in 1947 from the factory in Maranello. Enzo mainly built road cars to fund his racing. Fiat bought a stake in 1969, and Ferrari was listed on the stock market in 2015. Scuderia Ferrari is the oldest and most successful team in Formula One history, having competed in every season since the championship began in 1950.
