Whose creation is Super Mario?

In Donkey Kong, Mario was called Jumpman and was a carpenter trying to rescue a woman from a giant ape. He was later renamed after Mario Segale, the landlord of Nintendo of America’s warehouse, and became a plumber. His moustache, cap and overalls were practical choices, because they were easy to show with the few pixels available at the time. Super Mario Bros., released for the NES in 1985, sold more than 40 million copies and helped revive the video game industry. Mario has since become the face of the best-selling video game franchise of all time.
