Where is the saltiest water on Earth?

Don Juan Pond in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica is the saltiest natural body of water on Earth, with a salinity of over 40 percent — about 18 times saltier than the ocean and far saltier than the Dead Sea. Its extreme concentration of calcium chloride keeps the shallow pond liquid even at temperatures below minus 50 degrees Celsius, when ordinary water would freeze solid. Among larger and more famous salty water bodies, the Dead Sea between Jordan and Israel has a salinity of around 34 percent, roughly ten times that of ordinary seawater, which is why swimmers float so easily on its surface.
