Whose tomb did Howard Carter discover?

Carter had searched the Valley of the Kings for years, funded by George Herbert, the 5th Earl of Carnarvon. On 4 November 1922, his team uncovered a step cut into the rock, and on 26 November Carter peered through a hole into the tomb, reportedly saying he could see wonderful things. Tutankhamun had ruled Egypt around 1332 to 1323 BCE and died at about 19 years old. The tomb held more than 5,000 objects, including his solid gold innermost coffin and the famous gold death mask, which weighs about 10 kilograms. It took Carter about ten years to catalogue and clear everything.
