When Carter peered through a hole in the sealed doorway on 26 November, Carnarvon asked, "Can you see anything?" Carter famously replied, "Yes, wonderful things." The tomb contained over 5,000 artefacts, including the iconic gold death mask. It remains the most complete royal tomb ever found in Egypt.
