Which Is the Tallest Dog Breed?

Male Great Danes typically stand about 76 to 86 centimetres at the shoulder, while Irish Wolfhounds have one of the highest minimum height standards of any breed. The tallest dog ever recorded was Zeus, a Great Dane from Michigan, who measured 111.8 centimetres at the shoulder in 2011. On his hind legs he stood more than 2.2 metres tall. Another Great Dane, also named Zeus, from Texas, was recognised as the tallest living dog in 2022 at 104.6 centimetres. The heaviest breed, by contrast, is generally considered to be the English Mastiff.
