The United States has the most billionaires of any country by a wide margin. Forbes’ 2024 World’s Billionaires list counted a record 2,781 billionaires worldwide, and 813 of them were American. China, including Hong Kong, came second with around 470, and India was third with about 200. The figures change every year with stock markets, since most billionaire fortunes are tied to shares in companies they founded or inherited.
