Which animal is the deadliest to humans?

Though tiny, the mosquito kills more people than any other animal — an estimated 700,000 or more each year. It does so not directly but as a carrier, transmitting deadly diseases such as malaria, dengue, yellow fever, and Zika when it bites. Malaria alone accounts for the majority of these deaths, mostly among young children in Africa. By comparison, sharks kill fewer than a dozen people a year. After mosquitoes, the deadliest animals to humans include snakes and, surprisingly, other humans. Efforts to control mosquitoes and malaria save hundreds of thousands of lives annually.
