The Stratolaunch Roc is a twin-fuselage carrier aircraft designed to launch vehicles from high altitude. Its 117-metre wingspan is longer than an American football field. It made its first flight on 13 April 2019 from Mojave, California, powered by six engines originally built for Boeing 747s. The project was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who died in 2018 before the first flight. The heaviest aircraft ever built, the Antonov An-225 Mriya, was destroyed near Kyiv in February 2022.
