Where is the lowest point on land?

The lowest point on Earth dry land is the shoreline of the Dead Sea, roughly 430 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is a landlocked salt lake fed mainly by the Jordan River, with no outlet, so water leaves only by evaporation, leaving behind extremely salty, mineral-rich water nearly ten times saltier than the ocean. That density lets swimmers float effortlessly. The lake surface has been falling by about a meter per year as water is diverted upstream, making it one of the fastest-changing landscapes on the planet.
