Where is the largest country?

Russia is by far the largest country on Earth, spanning about 17.1 million square kilometres — nearly twice the size of the next largest, Canada. It stretches across both Europe and Asia and covers 11 time zones, so when it is morning in its west it is already evening in its east. Despite its enormous size, much of Russia is sparsely populated, cold Siberian wilderness. Its vast territory holds huge reserves of natural resources, including oil, gas, and timber.
