Where is the Bay of Fundy?

The Bay of Fundy stretches about 270 kilometres between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, with a small part touching the US state of Maine. Its tidal range can reach about 16 metres, roughly the height of a four-storey building, in the Minas Basin. Twice a day, around 100 billion tonnes of seawater flow in and out of the bay, more than the combined flow of all the world's freshwater rivers. The bay's shape and length cause the water to resonate with the ocean tides, amplifying them. At low tide, visitors can walk on the sea floor around the Hopewell Rocks, flowerpot-shaped sea stacks that are partly submerged at high tide.
