Whose Peace Prize Went to the Youngest Recipient?

Malala Yousafzai (born 1997) from the Swat Valley in Pakistan began speaking out for girls right to education at age 11, writing a blog for the BBC Urdu service under a pseudonym about life under Taliban rule. On 9 October 2012, a Taliban gunman shot her in the head on a school bus. She survived, was treated in the UK, and became a global symbol of resistance to the suppression of education. In 2014, at age 17, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (shared with Kailash Satyarthi), becoming the youngest Nobel laureate in any category. Her advocacy through the Malala Fund has helped millions of girls access education worldwide.
