Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, appears on the front of the hundred-dollar bill — notable because he was never a president. Franklin was chosen for his enormous contributions as a statesman, diplomat, inventor, printer and scientist, including his famous experiments with electricity and his role in drafting the Declaration of Independence.
