When was John F. Kennedy assassinated?

At 12:30 pm on 22 November 1963, shots were fired at President John F. Kennedy as his motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza in Dallas. He was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:00 pm, aged 46. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested that afternoon but was himself shot dead two days later by nightclub owner Jack Ruby. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in aboard Air Force One the same day.
