Quick Answer
NASA’s WISE mission performed an all-sky infrared survey beginning in 2010. It later continued as NEOWISE to search for asteroids and comets.
The Full Story
The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, launched in 2009 and scanned the sky in infrared wavelengths. By 2010 it had completed an all-sky map, revealing cool stars, dusty galaxies and faint Solar System objects. Its later NEOWISE phase focused on near-Earth asteroids and comets. The mission produced one of the most useful infrared catalogs in astronomy.
