Whose company is SpaceX?

Elon Musk founded Space Exploration Technologies, known as SpaceX, in 2002. Its Falcon 1 became the first privately developed liquid-fuelled rocket to reach orbit on 28 September 2008, after three failed attempts. On 21 December 2015 a Falcon 9 first stage made the first successful landing of an orbital rocket booster, opening the door to reusable rockets. On 30 May 2020 SpaceX became the first private company to launch astronauts to orbit, sending two NASA astronauts to the International Space Station. Its Starlink network now has thousands of satellites providing internet around the world.
