Whose ballet score is The Rite of Spring?

Russian composer Igor Stravinsky wrote The Rite of Spring for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, with original choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky. It premiered at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris on 29 May 1913. Its pounding rhythms, harsh dissonances and unusual dancing shocked part of the audience, and the performance was drowned out by shouting and jeering. The ballet depicts a pagan ritual in ancient Russia in which a young girl dances herself to death to welcome spring. Once considered scandalous, it is now regarded as one of the most influential musical works of the 20th century.
