Which Plant Has the Largest Leaves?

The raffia palm Raffia regalis grows in the tropical forests of Central Africa and produces enormous compound leaves up to about 25 metres long. For single, undivided leaves, the giant taro Alocasia macrorrhizos holds the record, with one leaf in Malaysia measuring about 3 metres long. The giant Amazon water lilies have floating pads that can exceed 3 metres across. In 2022 scientists at Kew Gardens named a new species, Victoria boliviana, whose pads reached 3.2 metres. The talipot palm of India and Sri Lanka also has huge fan-shaped leaves about 5 metres wide.
