Which planet has the biggest rings?

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune all have ring systems, but Saturn’s are in a league of their own. Its main rings stretch roughly 282,000 km from edge to edge, yet in most places they are only about 10 metres thick. They are made overwhelmingly of water ice, in pieces ranging from dust grains to chunks the size of houses, which is why they shine so brightly in sunlight. Galileo first glimpsed them in 1610 but could not work out what they were, and Christiaan Huygens correctly described them as a ring in 1655. Measurements from the Cassini mission suggest the rings may be relatively young, perhaps only a few hundred million years old, although scientists still debate this.
